Dr. Nienke Timmer

Dr. Nienke Timmer has been working in our lab since 2005, first as a PhD student (thesis: The interaction of heparan sulfate proteoglycans with the amyloid b proteins) and since 2009 as a postdoc. Her current project is aimed at finding potential biomarkers in the glutamatergic neurotransmission system using different transgenic mouse models for Alzheimer’s disease. Main areas of interest: Alzheimer’s disease, glutamatergic neurotransmission, transgenic mouse models, amyloid b protein.
